The Norwich Academy runs a number of part time media courses inclunding classes on using software such as Reason, Cubase, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and IMovie. Additionally the Academy is accredited through the Institute of Music Technology to offer City & Guilds qualificatiions in: Multimedia Studies, Sound Engineering and Music Technology. Other courses carry NALCE and/or Open College Network (OCN) certification.
Classes are geared at both adults and young people and many are attended by industry specialists wanting to sharpen up their skills, learn new software, meet others in the industry or gain a relevant qualification.
The Academy is currently working with Community Media on a mumber of projects aimed specifically at Young People such as the Rain or Shine Club - Heritage Trail. Previous work included the production of an interactive CD as part of a Connexions sponsored project examining the history of a local community building and its previous uses.
