Heritage Trails
The theme of the project is The “Routes” of Industrial Britain.
Many of the participants will be quite aware that their families arrived in Britain in the recent past. Others may well be coming from a background where they feel their own families are and always have been native to these shores.
The theme will allow participants amongst other things to see that economic migration has been a fact of life since time immemorial and that a lot of history has been shaped by the production and/or protection of wealth.
It is hoped that all participants will get an understanding of the likely role their own forefathers may have played in this whether from inside or outside the UK.
